Michael,

Does your 'All Documents' view have the view selection formula: ArchiveStatus != "Archive" and your 'Archive' view have the view selection formula: Archive Status = "Archive"? If not, that is probably your problem. Also, I would not let the user type in the word Archive. Use a keyword list with the values like "Do not Archive" and "Archive". A mispelling could throw your views out of wack.
