I have a problem at one of my clients sites when trying to retrieve mail from a POP3 server using a Notes 4.6 client. This is using an "Internet" mail system via a location document. There are two problems:
1.When trying to receive mail from the POP3 server we receive the error message "POP3 Protocol Error" and it does not go. We have tried all types of configuration. We are sure the "Outgoing internet server name" and "Incoming internet server name" values are correct. There is a direct Network connection via a WAN link to the POP3 server so we are using a TCPIP port. We are using the Notes Mail database/file. We are specifying an Internet password and using Port 110.
Does there need to be any configurations performed at the POP3 server end ? What are the key (Location Document) configuration values which might cause this error ?
2.Although sending mail works, the recipient sees the user's Notes mail address, not their internet address.
Any help or pointers greatly appreciated.
